Wills, Durable Powers of Attorney and Health Care Proxies

 

Will:   A Will is a legal and binding document which may or may not need to be probated in court following a person's death.  You may have specific issues which need to be addressed to ensure that your wishes are carried out.


Durable Power of Attorney:  You may designate another person as your Attorney in Fact to make certain decisions for you regarding your financial affairs and medical procedures.  This document takes affect if you become disabled or incapacitated.


Health Care Proxy*:  Any competent adult over the age of 18 may appoint a Health Care Agent.  The Health Care Agent makes health care decisions for you if you become incapable of making those decisions for yourself.
